An Israeli hostage freed from Gaza only learned after his release that Hamas had killed his wife and daughters in the 7 October attack. Eli Sharabi, taken 16 months ago, was told the devastating news by an IDF soldier. His British wife, Lianne, and daughters, Noiya and Yahel, were found murdered in their safe house. Sharabi was one of three hostages handed to the Red Cross as part of a ceasefire deal. During his release, he said he was “very happy” to return to his family - unaware they were gone.
