These are the players: Magnus Carlsen, D. Gukesh, Hikaru Nakmaura, Alireza Firouzja, Fabiano Caruana, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Levon Aronian, Vincent Keymer, Vladimir Fedoseev and Javokhir Sindarov. Format: The first stage will have a 10-player round robin of 9 rounds with a time control of 10 mins + 10 seconds increment. Top 8 qualify for quarter finals, last 2 will play for the 9th spot. The second stage will be the knockouts (Quarterfinals, Semi-finals, Finals) where each match will last 2 classical games. 90 mins + 30 seconds increment. In case of a 1-1 tie - Game 3+4 = 10’+10’’ / Game 5+6 = 5’+2’’ / Game 7 = Armageddon. Prize money: 1st place - US$ 200,000 2nd place - US$ 140,000 3rd place - US$100,000 With a total prize fund of US$660,000. The players will also get Grand Slam tour points at this event. 1st place - 25 points, 2nd place 18 points, all the way up to 1 point for the 10th place. 7th and 8th Feb is the Round Robin in Rapid. 9th and 10th Quarterfinals, 11th and 12th Semi finals and 13th and 14th will be the finals!
