Gringo family AMAZED by Brazil's hidden gem (BEAUTIFUL MINAS GERAIS)

What's life like in a small Brazilian town? Is it safe? What do people do for fun? How's the quality of life? We set out to explore these questions, as well as have a good ol' fashioned fun time, in the small town of Santa Rita do Sapucai. Big thanks to our new friends Lucas and Paula for inviting us! First, we went to Grandpa Joel's coffee farm, where we met Pedro, a knowlegdeable and well spoken farmer who taught us about coffee, and lots more. We loved the beauty of his property, not to mention the deliciousness of his coffee! It was a great start to our day. Our daughter Jean has been making lots of friends in Brazil. She did very well at the coffee farm-- sitting in the back of a pickup truck and bouncing along the dirt roads. She even made a couple of friends at lunch! Brazilian people have always been very friendly to us, and even moreso that we have our 5 month old daughter with us. Jean iss a good ice-breaker. After lunch, we checked out the main square of the city. It was a Sunday morning, and the place was exceedingly quiet. Are small towns always this quiet in Brazil? We are unsure, but it gave us a good opportunity to drive around and admire some houses. (We were, for the most part, the only car on the road.) We are very curious what a house in such a town would cost. We're also curious about the safety-- is the electric fence on top of the perimiter of the property necessary? (Also, what's best: elecrtic fence, big spikes, or razor wire? Just curious) From there we checked out Inatel - a place every resident of Santa Rita do Sapucai seems to be proud of. It's a teleocmmunications school that boasts big achievements-- the first ever 5G internet in the Americas, as well as many people hired directly to Facebook, Google, etc. It's a world-class institution, up there with MIT! Wow. At dinner we had some very delicious pizza, and gave thanks to our friends Lucas and Paula. They hosted us and helped us out a lot in our trip. Hopefully, we can meet them again one day!
