German civilians being trained for war

German civilians are now being trained for a worst-case scenario following Europe’s shock realisation that security could not be taken for granted after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. After Russia invaded Ukraine, Germany pledged 100 billion euros to transform its military, which included boosting the number of troops and reservists. Germany needs to find around 20,000 more soldiers in the next few years.
