Gay Bar trad version by The Iron Boot Scrapers

The Iron Boot Scrapers perform a tradition version of The Electric Six's 'Gay Bar'' whilst sojourning at Wiston House in Sussex. The event was wedding fair; as people traffic was slow I thought I'd put an ancient camcorder on the manoral fireplace and video the set; mainly as footage to show to new band members when they joined the band, as a teaching aide. Little did I know history was made that day. Later, after Electric Six fans contacted me I had a chat with Dick Valentine, the composer of the tune. He wanted us to record a version of the tune; I proposed that we'd do that (which would of course only benefit The Electric Six) if they took us on tour as their warm up band; alas he didn't take that bait.
