From the archives: British PM Margaret Thatcher joins Face the Nation

In the midst of the Iran-Contra hearings on Capitol Hill, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher joined Face the Nation in July of 1987. Moderator Lesley Stahl asked the prime minister about how the scandal had impacted U.S. relations with other countries across the world. "Face the Nation" is America's premier Sunday morning public affairs program. The broadcast is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television, having debuted Nov. 7, 1954, on CBS.
