At the 2007 Laureus World Sports Awards, Franz Beckenbauer received the Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award. Fellow Academy Member Sir Bobby Charlton and Johan Cruyff presented Franz with his Award and spoke warmly about 'The Kaiser', a man they respected greatly.
