Frank O'Cain: Creating tension in an abstract watercolor using shapes and colors. Demo Jan 2025
Frank O'Cain's demonstration at the Art Students League of NY on January 14, 2025 shows how to create tension and movement in an abstract watercolor using shapes and a narrow range of warm colors..
The demo includes many tips, such as how to start with a strong movement, begin lightly and work around the full work as new colors are added.
Frank O'Cain is an important instructor at the Art Students League of New York, introducing generations of students to the basic principles of Abstract Painting developed by Cezanne and Hans Hofmann. Currently, he teaches both on-line and in studio classes.
