Fossil Hunting most rare Discovery 2022 (not dinosaur jaws)

Back on the hunt we head to a private 130-acre ranch and stumble on one of my best finds yet! A near complete lower American Mastodon lower mandible (jaw) complete with lower tusks. As we excavate we begin to realize this is no isolated fossil, but instead a massive Mastoson grave site with all the fossils belonging to one extinct animal. We locate two complete mastodon tusks and from the size of the tusks and mandible, we begin to see this was from a juvenile Mastodon as a fully frown Mastodon would be larger. Next, the upper teeth begin to come from situ and we realize the upper jaw (maxilla) has eroded away and only the molar teeth remain, but they are in an exceptional state of preservation. Any one of these teeth alone would have made out the day on any other hunt, but todaywe frantically search because we recover 3 out of 4 of the upper teeth. This was an incredible discovery and we have notified the proper scientist / Paleontologist at the Florida Museum of Natural History and are working to stabilize and restore these awesome Florida fossils.
