Stefan Zweig (1881-1942) was an Austrian writer and journalist. He was born in Vienna, Austria and died in Petrópolis, Brazil. Zweig was known for his works of fiction, including novels, short stories, and biographies. He was also a prominent figure in the literary and intellectual circles of his time, and his works were widely read and admired. However, due to the rise of Nazism in Europe, Zweig was forced to flee his home country and eventually settled in Brazil, where he tragically took his own life.
