For Beatles fan visiting Liverpool, we went on a self guided tour - strawberry fields forever….. Beaconsfield Rd. Salvation Army are the custodians, with Beatles lyrics all over the walks - St Peter’s Church, Church Rd, Woolton. To find Eleanor Rigby’s grave, Google map reviewer was great help “Walk through the gate, turn left and in the first set of graves it’s the third row back.” - We fortuitously ran into Derek Dottie, who turned out to be St Peter’s Church Parish Administrator, who gave us an impromptu tour of the church hall directly across the road where John and Paul first met. A most lovely gent. - childhood homes of Ringo Starr, and also John Lennon and Paul McCartney (both national trust preserved)
