I find the G1000 system very capable, but also somewhat confusing to many of my Instrument Rating students -- in particular vertical guidance (VNAV, GS, and GP). I made this video to explain some of the concepts of the G1000 autopilot and vertical guidance, and also as an attempt to create a "Standard Operating Procedure" or profile for flying approaches with the G1000 automation.
