Mukbang-mukbang! Life is good! (wink) Recently, I was able to acquire a thing I have desired for the longest time - peonies and butterflies inspired tea set from Royal Albert. I have so imagined dining using these sets that I would jokingly say: "I want to dine with my bestie, Miranda." Peonies and butterflies touch my heart. Since I was young, I always thought of the butterfly as a symbol of transformation. From an ugly often derided pest in the garden to a lovely sought after butterfly. The humble beginnings of the elegant winged creature makes me think that there is always room for us to grow; there is always an opportunity to transform ourselves into someone better. The peonies - oh the beautiful peony! Pompous, elegant, beautiful.... almost rare. The flower blooms only once in the spring and only for a short season. The short lived flowers makes them more precious. A symbol quite specially reserved for spring. For weeks, the garden is full of these magnificent flowers, towering over the rest of the greens that are busy growing. Their presence cannot be missed. And when they are done blooming, the plants are left with dark green beautiful leaves that are very ornate. I see these flowers as a symbol of the orient - their porcelain and art being lavishly decorated with them. Indeed, they look royal. I stumbled upon the tea set one day, I don't remember how, but I immediately concluded that the design was a perfect combination. Judging from the masterful photographs on advertisements I thought that these tea set is modern, the design simple, but the structure sophisticated. It’s the gold, yes, I think it is. Of course, it got me curious as to who the designer is and what Royal Albert is about. Miranda Kerr published a book and the sample reading available online was positive and motivating. The dream for the tea set was complimented by admiration for the designer. I could not afford the set then but it has been in my wish list since. With the saved meager income I got from YouTube, I decided, it's time to get me the dream. Since I used up "all my savings" to buy me this set, there is no more for groceries. Hence, a pizza pop and lettuce presumptuously occupy these elegant tea set for lunch. We will dine like queens over some peasant’s food. !I am of course only kidding... The chrysanthemum tea, quite beautiful in itself too, takes the important position of the first tea being served in this opulent porcelain - to please a princess of the garden. (So goes my imagination.) It is a pleasant autumn day, at positive 10 degrees Celsius, and the sun is shining brightly. There are blue jays that pick on the containers of soil left on the balcony. The breeze is very soft outside. What a perfect day to garden... then, as we restfully fine-dine using the new tea set, we dream and pretend. Tea parties are not just for little girls. Right, I'm speaking for myself only. lol. If you have read this far, thank you so much for indulging me. May you have fine things in life to enjoy as well, and may you find good in everyday. I hope you are having a nice, relaxing afternoon. xoxo, Maiah Delightful Souvenirs, November 2021 If you enjoy tea time anytime, maybe you'd find something you'd enjoy in this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOQ_L6ttyGoFArHmC3IqM2EbORW52Y4QI #royalalbert #teacupcollection #teatime
