Feedback Techniques w/ Effect Pedals (feat. Fairfield Circuitry Hors d'Oeuvre?)

Feedback patching is the process of routing a device’s outputs back into its own inputs to create feedback loops, turning simple audio utilities and processors like mixers and effect pedals into dynamic, playable instruments. This technique is similar to no input mixing, a technique pioneered by Toshimaru Nakamura, which involves creating chaotic sound on a mixer by self-patching to cause the mixer to self-oscillate. In this video, I’ll explore some feedback patching techniques using the Fairfield Circuitry Hors d'Oeuvre? active feedback loop pedal in combination with other FX pedals, to create noisy, textural, & chaotic sounds. I’ll explain what the Hors d'Oeuvre? pedal is and how it works—and I’ll share a bunch of ideas for creating feedback-based patches both with and without external input / modulation from other instruments.
