Thanks to the help of Andrew @RepairGeek , we tested 5 popular diesel fuel additives: Stanadyne Performance Formula, Hot Shot Secret Everyday Diesel Treatment, PowerService Kleen + Cetane Boost, Archoil AR6500, and Opti Lube XDP All-in-one. We've previously covered motor oil additives (https://youtu.be/CAGT5inQScE), so let's get into the science behind diesel fuel additives this time. All of these products, except one, improved the lubricity of the fuel, and all of them increased the cetane of the diesel fuel. However, some of them brought along some unwanted tradeoffs for that performance enhancement. The results made it clear that not all diesel fuel additives are created equal. Some work better than others, and some can actually mask underlying issues.
