Ex-Bootcamp Ex-Amazonian learns C from scratch from Unemployed Middle-Aged CrowdStrike Burnout. 🫠
C You Later Amazon! ✌️
A Mid-Career Bootcamp-Trained Ex-Amazonian learns "Real Coding" and C from an Unemployed Middle-Aged Ex-CrowdStriker.
Joe is a mid-career bootcamp-trained dev I've worked with in the past. He's worked in JS, Python, Go, and Java, at our shared employer and Amazon. He recently accepted a role at Meta and matched on a systems programming team working in C and C++. Given that he doesn't have a CS degree or low-level experience, he's got quite the onramp!
In this series, I aim to help him get up to speed with fundamentals.
In this first episode, we discuss:
- The stack versus the heap
- C scalars, structs, unions, arrays
- C declarations oddities
- CVR qualifiers
If you're self-trained outside of a CS degree, and trying to break into systems programming, you might enjoy this series.
