We recently took a trip to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and it was a total eye-opener! Honestly, we didn't know what to expect, but we were blown away. First off, the coffee scene is insane. We tried some of the best Ethiopian coffee at the first-ever coffee shop in the country, and it was DELICIOUS!
Next up, we hit up the National Museum of Ethiopia and we had a blast. Seeing Lucy, the famous 3.2 million old hominid skeleton, was pretty mind-blowing. We also explored the Shola Market, which was a sensory overload with all the colorful clothes and spices.
We loved hanging out in Entoto Park, too. The views of the city were incredible, and the park itself was super lush and green with all the eucalyptus trees. We also explored another market known for traditional Ethiopian clothing.
We ate a delicious fine dining Ethiopian meal at Marcus Addis, a rooftop restaurant with stunning views. Of course, we couldn't come to Addis without exploring the famous Mercato Market. It was a chaotic, bustling experience, and it was so interesting watching all the guys running around with giant mattresses and boxes on their heads.
Overall, Addis Ababa was a fantastic surprise. We had an amazing time exploring the city and discovering all it had to offer. It's definitely a place we'd recommend to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable travel experience.
