English in a Minute: Touch and Go
Welcome to English in a Minute!  Touch is one of our five senses. So, what might touch-and-go mean?   D: I just heard from Ashley that you lost your pet. I’m so sorry.  A: Thanks, Dan. Things were touch-and-go for a while. But finally, I found Rocky.   D: It’s a rock?   A: It’s Rocky -- my pet rock. We go way back, Dan.     Touch-and-go describes a situation that is uncertain. The final result is unknown. We mostly use this phrase when talking about serious situations, like a health scare. Not a missing pet rock.   Originally published at - https://learningenglish.voanews.com/a/6840620.html
