Ecuador by Train: South America’s Most Spectacular Railway Line | Free Documentary Bolivia by Train: https://youtu.be/HEnJDFHKCAI Join us for an unforgettable journey as the train climbs to Urbina, Ecuador’s highest station at 3,609 meters or 11,840 ft. The route winds through the Avenue of Volcanoes, passing Cotopaxi National Park, before reaching Quito, the world’s highest capital. The Trans-Andean railway navigates the infamous Devil’s Nose (Nariz del Diablo), a near-vertical mountain where the train zigzags up 500 meters in just 12 kilometers—a true feat of engineering! Originally completed in 1908, much of the railway was damaged in the 1990s but was restored in 2013, preserving its historic narrow-gauge tracks. Spanning 450 kilometers, it connects the coastal city of Guayaquil to the Andean highlands. To ensure safe passage, motorcycle guards halt traffic at unguarded crossings. At the heart of Ecuador’s railway revival is the Tren Crucero, a luxurious steam train carrying up to 54 passengers. The most thrilling stretch begins in the Chanchán River gorge, where the train zigzags up Devil’s Nose on tight switchbacks, with tracks that seem to overlap. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe to Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI Free Documentary Merch: https://bit.ly/3zpk3mj ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #ecuador ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by well-known filmmakers working for famous production studios.
