Glasgow Coma Scale or GCS is one the first major concepts taught to the new EMT student in EMT school. GCS (Glasgow Coma Scale) is a scale that tells EMS and emergency medical services staff how critical a trauma patient may be.
The scoring system includes a verbal assessment, motor assessment and eye opening assessment. GCS can be added to your patient assessment exam that you will learn in EMT class.
Using my GCS mnemonic and breaking down each point level by level, rest assured that after watching this video you will have the Glasgow coma scale (GCS) down for life!
