Had I known these strategies, I could have learned to code much faster. The tips I am sharing helped me get an offer at my very first software job interview. I can't promise you will get a job offer that quickly, but I am confident that you can learn to be a software engineer without going back to school. Do I wish I could go back in time and get a computer science degree? Sure. But sometimes things just are practical. Going back to school to get a computer science degree would have hurt my young family financially and emotionally. Going the self taught programmer route was very challenging. It takes a lot of hard work, but it is possible. How long it takes to learn JavaScript will largely come down to you and the effort you put into it.
