Approaching modular can be overwhelming. I used to think modular had to be complex, that it was a game for the technically elite, but that’s a trap. Modules are just tools—they should help you translate ideas, not overcomplicate them. Discovering Verbos Electronics changed everything for me. Their approach to design helped me figure out what I actually wanted from modular—something immediate, hands-on, and deeply musical. In this video, as I share my thoughts, I’m also building a patch from scratch—fully improvised—using the OXI One as my sequencer, with four main voices: a Complex Oscillator, a Harmonic Oscillator, a Sawtooth Stack, and a Cwejman SM-1, all mixed in the @BoredbrainMusic Xcelon and processed with @strymon effects. This is about setting boundaries, embracing limitations, and trusting creativity.
