“Get the Jew”: The Crown Heights Riot Revisited, a new documentary from The Wall Street Journal Opinion, sheds light on the worst antisemitic riot in American history, which occurred in New York City in 1991. After a Hasidic Jewish driver accidentally hit and killed a black child, rioters attacked the local Jewish neighborhood in Crown Heights. Mayor David Dinkins and the New York Police Department allowed the riot to rage for three full nights, while many in the media played down or excused the antisemitism at the heart of the violence.
