DO Miatas NEED More Power?? - One Take

Are Miatas underpowered, or perfect as they are? That's the question we hope to answer today, to settle an argument between Zack and Road & Track's Sam Smith. This 2000 Miata Special Edition came with wood trim, a better stereo, and the all-important Torsen LSD. The 1.8L 4-cylinder makes 140HP but it only weighs 2,300lbs, and with a 6-speed manual and a good diff, it can be a very fun thing. However, if the chassis can handle more power, should it come with more? Or is it a blissful machine as is, allowing full use of the gas pedal without getting arrested? Follow us!
