Making a 27 gallon bottom-watered growing container.
With about 12 gallons of water, it's fully maintenance-free for weeks (cucumbers) to months (herbs). No electronics, no weeds, no overwatering, continuous fertilizer and water delivery.
You can usually fit 12+ small plants like basil/parsley in one of these, or 2-4 large plants like cucumbers/tomatoes/peppers.

UPDATE November 2021: Basil and peppers in my EarthBoxes survived light frost that plants directly in the ground did not. Probably due to the thermal mass of the water and damp soil.
