DIY Cyanotypes - Making Cyanotypes (Sun Prints) on Fabric
Cyanotypes (also called Sun prints) are a photographic technique using a dye and a negative to create a positive image. The process was invented by British astronomer and chemist John Frederick William Herschel (1792 – 1871). This technique is great for capturing gorgeous botanical images. I can’t think of a better way to create art from your home garden than to make sun prints from plants and leaves found in your backyard. I sewed together six fabric prints and made a pillow. I posted a picture of the pillow in the Community tab. And as you can see from the video, this is super easy to do. I am using fabric that I purchased from Blick Art Supplies. The fabric is already treated with cyanotype chemicals which simplifies the process for beginners. https://www.dickblick.com/items/jaquard-cyanotype-fabric-sheets-8-12-x-11-pkg-of-10/ Thanks for watching. 🌿 Blog: https://gardenmoxie.com/ 🌿 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gardenmoxie/ 🌿 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/GardenMoxie/ 📩 [email protected] #cyanotype #cyanotypeonfabric #cyanotypetutorial #botanicalart
