Difference Equation Root Theorems Derivation: Leaving Cert Applied Maths

You might have seen these two "root theorems" in applied maths that you are essentially just meant to learn off, and the available text books don't provide a rigorous way to derive them. Is there a reason why they omit the derivation? Yes, there is. It requires linear algebra! So follow the derivation along if you are at all curious how these results came to be. It's okay to get confused around the logic, I am trying to use a formal (ish) methodology of proof, and using concepts people would not have met yet. Any queries? Let me know!
