DI Boxes Part 5: Active vs. Passive revisited

In January of 2014 I uploaded my original video on the subject of active vs passive DI boxes. One of the key statements I made in that video was that, as a general rule, active DI boxes should be used with passive sources and passive DIs with active sources. This is still a good general rule, but over the past three years I have discovered that many active acoustic guitars are best paired with an active DI box. This video discusses the reasons for that conclusion as well as some examples of the tonal differences between active and passive DIs.
