This film surprised me, the best ways. As a woman, I know what it is like to occupy this space - where you see yourself as never enough, constantly tweaking, seeking a happy medium. I hate it - but our society put a premium on beauty (common in declining cultures) and women suffer the brunt of that more than men. I feel that this movie captured the dissonance we suffer from - both inflicted upon and internalized by us. The visuals aren't even the most confronting part - it was the constant need to please those around us, but aesthetics, deportment and attitude. That was the real horror this film conveyed to me. SENSATIONAL WORK by Margaret Qualley and Demi Moore. The Awards campaigns begins with them...
