Danganronpa V3 react to Dazai Osamu ||2x SPEED||
AU:
Dazai is sent on a covert mission to infiltrate the newly re-established Hope’s Peak Academy, following reports of disturbing anomalies surrounding its students. Ordinary individuals were entering the school and emerging as drastically different people, equipped with extraordinary talents that should take years to master. To make matters worse, there was a significant drop in the number of students leaving the academy—a detail too glaring for the Port Mafia to ignore.
Under orders from Mori, Dazai is tasked with uncovering the academy’s secrets. Mori perceives Hope’s Peak’s ability to warp minds and produce unmatched specialists in every field within mere months as a direct threat—one that must be dismantled from within.
Upon his arrival, Dazai finds himself in a room filled with his soon-to-be classmates, all excitedly discussing their acceptance into Danganronpa—a killing game they believe is entirely staged. Before Dazai can ask questions, the “hosts” of the game begin calling students one by one to assign their Ultimates. When Dazai’s turn arrives, he encounters an individual he quickly deduces to be an ability user—someone capable of rewriting memories. However, thanks to Dazai’s nullification ability, the memory rewrite fails without the user noticing. Dazai is immediately knocked unconscious afterward, leaving him with no chance to gather more information.
When he awakens, Dazai finds himself in what he assumes is the real Hope’s Peak Academy. The classmates he met earlier are now completely different people, with no memory of who they were before. Their entire identities revolve around the names, backstories, and Ultimates assigned to them via their Monopads. Fortunately, Mori had filled out Dazai’s application beforehand, assigning him the role of the Ultimate Strategist—a title that wouldn’t draw suspicion and suited his skill set perfectly.
While quickly identifying the supposed “Mastermind,” Dazai discovers she is just another brainwashed participant, unable to provide any real insight. With no immediate leads, he decides to play the long game, keeping a low profile to avoid drawing attention from the game’s creators and audience. Reluctant to waste energy on the killings and trials, Dazai subtly ensures every trial concludes without leading to his execution. His ultimate goal is to survive until the game’s end, hoping the real orchestrators of the killing game will eventually reveal themselves.
To blend in, Dazai adopts the facade of the introverted yet brilliant “Ultimate Strategist” assigned to him, hiding his true nature and purpose. This carefully constructed act is the only thing keeping him from being exposed—and potentially eliminated—by the masterminds pulling the strings behind the scenes.
