It's a little complicated what happens behind the scenes when you create a Linux user. Thankfully, the command line tools make it difficult (but not impossible) to mess things up. In this video we look at the simple tools to manipulate local user accounts.
We use tools like:
- useradd
- groupadd
- usermod
- userdel
- passwd
Plus we learn how to pre-populate users' home directories with files from the /etc/skel directory.
