When I go door knocking for old houses to metal detect, I try to get a fast read on the homeowner. I can usually tell within 30 seconds if they will say yes or no, whether they could care less, or if they are really interested in what I'm doing. If I sense they are interested I ask them if they want to join me. I keep an extra machine in the trunk, along with an extra pinpointer, knee pads, gloves, shovels, and everything they will need. This house I got permission for about 2 weeks earlier but just haven't gotten back to hunt it yet. The homeowner was really interested so he joined me and even bought his own hand digger before I got there, now that's interested! Here's our hunt of this 1890's property including one of the craziest pieces I've found yet!
