COOL! Twisted Tangent Staves Wood Turning
Today I glue up some staves that do not line up in the middle. Staves are similar to segments. It is all about grain direction. Making a glue up with segments or staves that do not line up in the middle can make an interesting look. They are glued up tangent to a larger diameter on top and a smaller one on the bottom. The idea came from an article in a American Wood Turner magazine How I use abrasive paste: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmW9xjWdkts&t=516s&ab_channel=ThePapa1947 Tools Used: Robert Sorby bowl gouges Negative Rake Scrapers Parting tool Dovetail tool Finishes used: Minwax lacquer sanding sealer Deft Spray lacquer Acks Abrasive Paste and Polish/Restoring Paste If you found this video entertaining Please Like and Subscribe and Share if you are inclined The video is for entertainment purposes only Look up other turnings I have done: Dizzy Twister Turnings Segmented Turnings Feature Rings Staves 20 minute bowl Great gift or a craft show sales Star bowl Block bowl Tumbling bowls Emerging Bowls Black Locust Vase Droop Bowl Offset Bowl Barrel of Blocks Star Bowl Bowl in a Bowl Droop Bowl Lathe modifications Lacquer Shellac Friction Polish Abrasive Paste Polishing Paste Wipe on Poly Black Locust Hollow Form Multi Axis Square Bowl Siberian Elm Hollow Form Dodecahedron Soccer Ball Sphere Olive Wood Turnings Illusions Segmented Vase
