The Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance made its long-awaited return to French soil for the first time in nine years with the debut of the Val Thorens Pro on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Situated in the heart of Les Trois Vallées—the world's largest ski area—Val Thorens, voted the world’s best ski resort, delivered thrilling freeride action on its dramatic Lac Noir face. Athletes, fans, and freeride enthusiasts witnessed steep faces, technical lines, and breathtaking moments as the world’s elite riders competed in this stunning alpine setting.
With competition day selected for optimal conditions, riders tackled the unique challenges of Val Thorens’ high-altitude terrain at 2,300 meters above sea level. Known for its steep couloirs, varied terrain, and consistent snowfall, the venue provided the perfect stage for freeriders to showcase skill, precision, and creativity. As the highest ski resort in Europe, Val Thorens proved to be a dream destination for mountain athletes, featuring bold lines and technical features ideal for a world-class freeride competition.
