Cold press laminator : Intaglio Printmaking on a Budget

Want to print at home but don’t have access to a traditional etching press? In this video, I’ll show you how to repurpose a cold press laminator as a functional printmaking press! Whether you’re a beginner or an artist working with limited space or budget, I hope this video will help you. I’ll guide you through the setup, materials I use, and show you the results of using a laminator for collagraph, drypoint and etching prints, along with tips for adjusting pressure to get the best results. Laminators can also be used for lino and relief printing, but my expertise is in intaglio so if you’re interested in relief printing, I’d recommend looking up artists who specialise in that area for a bit more guidance but the principals are the same.
