Chrysler PIN Read, Programming, and Duplicating Keys w/ Autel IM508 and Defu 368a
Cutting and Programming Jeep keys at home using a cheap eBay Defu 368a key cutting machine and an Autel IM508 and XP200 programmer.
This is a complete start to finish video. From blanks to functioning keys w/ fob. These Jeep Liberty vehicles need a PIN code to program. This can be obtained either buy showing ownership at the dealership, and possibly paying a service fee to obtain it, or you can read the data from the EEPROM chip on the SKIM (security module).
Since I hate going to dealerships, or locksmiths, I opted for choice #2, try to get the PIN code myself. First, unhook the battery as you need to remove the SKIM, and it needs to be powered off. Remove the two T-20 torx screws on the bottom side of the steering column cover. The SKIM module just slides off the spring clip holding it to the column and disconnect the pigtail.
Remove the cover off the SKIM module and get to work with the Autel MaxiIM508 and XP200 key programmer. This may work easier with the XP400, however that by itself costs over $500, and isn't necessary. Go to the chip programming option and read the data from the EEPROM. Watch the video to see where the #1 pin is at for hookup.
Once the BIN file data is saved, go to write key via dump and select Jeep Liberty. The Autel programmer will analyze the data and show you the PIN code. There is an option here as well to program the keys directly to the chip, however I tried (off camera) and it didn't work for me.
Lastly, reassemble the SKIM to the Jeep, and program the keys with the OBD cable and PIN option. Success! Now I have three working keys without even leaving the garage!
