Experience some spectacular scenery along the way. The Camino de Santiago, known in English as the Way of St. James, is a network of pilgrims' ways or pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried. Typically it takes at least a few weeks to cover the route, allowing for a few days rest days along the way, but most pilgrims in Portugal start the Camino Português walk at Porto, as it only takes about 10 to 14 days to walk the 260 km Central Route including rest days.
