Building the Layens Swarm Hive... and Giving it Away!

Today we go into the shop and teach you how to construct your very own swarm hive! We were inspired by Dr. Leo Sharashkin and his website "www.horizontalhive.com" as well as youtuber "Bee Boy Bill". Here are the tools and materials you will need for this build: Recommended Tools: Miter Saw, Table Saw, Circular Saw, Power Drill, 1-1/4" bit, 3/4" bit, Drill bit, Screw bit, Countersink, Tape Measurer, Shears. Staple Gun, Box cutter. Recommended Materials: 1"x12"x10' Untreated Pine Board, 16"x18" Untreated Plywood, Aluminum Flashing, Wire Mesh, Wood Glue, 36 1-5/8" screws, 18 1-1/4" screws, Exterior Acrylic Primer, Entrance Disc (www.horizontalhive.com).
