Building a Chicken Run... What do we Find in a Blocked Drain, Stihl Hole Auger vs Volvo Excavator!
In this episode we build a rather nice chicken run using a mesh panel system. Access is difficult for the project so we buy a new Sthil Post Hole Auger and find out if it's any good. After Rick nearly breaks his wrist with it and Paul tries to avoid getting whacked in the b*ll*cks we decide to bring an excavator to site. This allows us to show what light work the Volvo excavator makes of it with its hydraulic driven post hole driver... can the Sthil be any match?
We show tips on how to get the holes lined ups in the right places and how to install fence posts with postcrete.
Later in the episode we go draining and revisit a client to dig up and replace an old blocked drain that we temporarily fixed earlier in the year... You will never guess what we found blocking the drain... tree roots were just the start of it!
We give a glimpse of a great tool we have for our JCB telehandler, a TREE SPADE, and show some clips of winter when we lift out and move problem trees and successfully replant them.
Watch us install twinwall drain pipe to fixed the failing drain and hopefully relieve the clients battle to manage the water height in the pond and pick up a tip or two in installing the pipe and making sure the joints are installed correctly.
We offer some money saving tips for creating manholes which also allow greater flexibility when creating a drain inspection chamber and are quick and simple to install.
