Blacksmithing: Forging a Double Wall Hook
In this video I am sharing the process of hand forging of double wall hooks. The blacksmithing process here is not difficult but still has a few interesting moments! No power hammer needed! To forge these hooks I used a rounding hammer for moving the metal and a heavier hammer for hot punching. Blacksmith's vice (vise) or any other kind will help to hold the hook while forming it with the pliers. To cut 12mmx12mm (around 1/2 inch) square bar any angle grinder will help. I usually drill 6,5mm holes in such hooks so my forged nails could fit nicely. Finish with some filing and wire brushing to smoothen the sharp edges for a cleaner look and nicer feel. And you will also going to need some snow for more artistic cooling of the punch tool =) Hope that this video could be helpful for blacksmith enthusiasts as well as for craft loving community or just any person interested in how metal craft is made! If you are inspired to forge such type of wall hooks, please let us know about your results! We really hope you like our video! If so, please, let us know by leaving a like! Stay safe!
