This morning I did not have any specific plans other than that I wanted to head down to various wetlands to see if there were any birds or mammals to photograph. Spring has just started allowing for plants and flowers to begin to open up, and new bird species are arriving daily migrating north. While hiking and exploring nature, I stumbled upon a few surprised in the forest including a pair of red-shouldered hawks, a pileated woodpecker, and a pair of black-capped chickadees building a nesting cavity. You never know what you will find when you are out on an outing for nature photography, and that is the thrill of nature.
