Big weekend for TRU 🏗 In-depth look at huge upgrade works

Transpennine Route Upgrade work took place during a line closure between Huddersfield and Heaton Lodge Junction this weekend. A giant crane was brought into Bridge Road, Colne Bridge, to lift abutments for a replacement bridge into place. Meanwhile, two Class 66 locomotives on engineering trains could be seen at Huddersfield Station and on the nearby listed viaduct, which is being strengthened ahead for four-tracking. Piling work also appeared to be taking place near Wheatley's Colliery Bridge, presumably for masts to allow electrification. #train #transpennineexpress #tru #crane #railway
