On Channels TV this week, political analyst Majeed Dahiru dropped a very hot take about Peter Obi, El-Rufai, and 2027. Majeed said if El-Rufai can actually convince the North to back Peter Obi for president, Tinubu’s government will most likely end in 2027. He explained that El-Rufai is not just any politician — he’s like the brainbox of the Muslim North, and if he moves, many northern leaders and voters might follow him. According to him, the biggest power Obi needs now is northern support. And if someone like El-Rufai can pull that for him, it will change the whole game and totally shake Tinubu's chances. But Majeed also pointed out something interesting: he said many Southern governors, especially from the PDP, might not want to fully support a move against Tinubu. He said some of them might quietly prefer Tinubu to continue, just because of regional loyalty — you know, South backing South. He even reminded people how back in 2003, the Alliance for Democracy didn’t present a candidate against Obasanjo because they wanted the South to keep the presidency. He’s saying that kind of silent game could play out again. In short, Majeed believes El-Rufai is a big factor to watch, and if he seriously backs Peter Obi, things could scatter for Tinubu in 2027.
