Confused about compressors? We explore some cool tones with a handful of comps old and new Welcome to the show. We’ll stick our necks out and say that compression is probably the least well understood ‘effect’ of all when it comes to electric guitar. Good news - we’re not trying to explain it here! Nope, instead we get into some cool sounds and different ways to think about compressor pedals, starting with perhaps the two most famous of all: the MXR DynaComp and the Boss CS-whatever-number-it-might-be.
