On Friday 6th September, Brain May delivered a compelling talk about Berthon's history, from 1877, up until current day. The story is one of a family enterprise, which has grown and expanded with influence and presence across the world. But today’s Berthon owes its philosophy and staying power to the values and sound business sense of not one, but two siblings, Harry Goodland May and his younger brother, George Oliver, born in 1873 and 1876 respectively.
In the lead-up to the Berthon-sponsored event, "Lymington Afloat," which celebrates 1,000 years of maritime innovation, it's essential to reflect on Berthon's rich history and its lasting impact on the marine industry - https://www.berthon.co.uk/lymington-afloat/
Brian was followed by Keith Longman, Berthon's Yard Manager. Keith discussed our apprenticeship scheme, that he runs. Once an apprentice himself, Keith spoke passionately on the scheme and about his involvement now.
