A large storage tank, open at the top and filled with water, develops a small hole in its side at a point 17 m below the water level. The rate of flow from the leak is found to be 2.0 x 10-3 m3/min. Determine the speed (in m/s) at which the water leaves the hole. Determine the diameter of the hole (in mm). What if the hole is 10 m above the ground and the water is projected horizontally from the hole, how far (in m) from the base of the tank would a bucket have to be initially placed to catch the water from the leak?
