How to work with videos to progress faster - my recommendations FOR INPUT LEARNERS: 👀 WATCH Watch a video without subtitles 🔄 REWATCH Rewatch the same video without subtitles several times every other day or two (but stop when you start getting bored with it! This is important) *If you feel like mimicking certain sounds or words, go ahead. But my advise - on early stages do it only if it feels natural, usually when some sound or word sounds familiar, funny, strange, remarkable - in other words "calls for a respond" from you. When you're about A1-B1 level of oral comprehension (really depends on your ear) you can start practicing "shadowing" - repeating out loud the whole phrases as the video/audio plays. 👂 LISTEN When you remember the visual content of the video so well that you can picture it in your head, just by audio, without looking at the screen - start listening the audio versions of the video on the go/in the background throughout the day in your earphones or speakers. Relisten to the audios as many times as possible without getting sick of it. 📑 FOLLOW THE TEXT (Recommended at about A2 level of oral comrehension) If you have reading in Russian as a goal, turn on Russian subtitles (but not Russian auto-generated) or use transcriptions, and follow the text with your eyes while listening to the audio/video. ✍WRITE A DICTATION (Recommended at higher stages about B1-B2 level of comprehension) Write a dictation playing the video and pausing for writing down the text. Use the subtitles or transcriptions for a self-check. 👇👇👇 📄TRANSCRIPTIONS 🎧AUDIOS 📺PREMIUM VIDEOS ☕︎👨🏻‍💻Monthly Group calls https://go.comprehensiblerussian.com/c4wt5g 📄TRANSCRIPTIONS help you: - develop your reading and writing skills 📖✍ - solidate your knowledge of what you've acquired from the video 🧱💪 - DOC: easily adjustable to a mobile screen (unlike PDF) - Editable for marking the text and making notes - Printable and easy for making notes between the lines on paper if you like hand-learning I recommend using the transcriptions for: - following the text while listening to video/audio - extensive reading - intensive reading - checking your dictation ⭐📺🚀PREMIUM VIDEOS If you want to progress faster you need lots of quality comprehenible input every day. Watch stuff from me that's a little too edgy for YouTube: personal stories, video diary, extended interviews and more. 🎧AUDIOS mp3 help you increase your listening immersion by 3-10 times 🚀 Recommendations: - Play them on the go/in the background throughout the day - Use an app with audio speed control, a repeat mode and playlists features - (For beginners) Listen to audios only after you've watched the video so that you can associate the speech in the audio with illustrations you remember from the video ☕︎👨🏻‍💻 Monthly Group calls Q&A, discuss input learning, share progress, get support (in English) Friendly talks (in Russian) 📄TRANSCRIPTIONS 🎧AUDIOS 📺PREMIUM VIDEOS ☕︎👨🏻‍💻Monthly Group calls https://go.comprehensiblerussian.com/c4wt5g 🗪 Private lessons with Inna https://go.comprehensiblerussian.com/xivJdi ❤️Positive and negative feedback, suggestions for improving materials and adding new useful features to CR project, are welcome at [email protected]
