How this scene is (currently) interpreted 11:38 There seems to be a unanimous understanding that the scene I'm talking about, is a throw-away fantasy, and basically an irrelevant scene. 11. Why this scene is wrongly interpreted 13:25 It doesn't make sense to interpret this scene as a fantasy. Because we have not seen any other images of her inner world anywhere else in the movie. (other than childhood memories) 12. Logical interpretations 14:23 It makes sense that The One Scene, is embedded within the rest of the movie. This means we have three options. 1. It's a childhood memory 14:35 Throughout the scene we see glimpses of her childhood. However, we know this is not one of them. 2. It's reality 14:50 In which case the movie ends entirely different than everybody else now claims it does! OR 3. It IS a fantasy 16:10 But then it turns the whole entire movie upside down!!! Because now everything, can be a fantasy. 16:28 And that Samuel was never real, OR that there are two Samuels: One who she made up in her own head. And one who is really intern, who is understandably, often very confused by her behavior. I go into that interpretation, illustrated with the movie Fight Club. Because as I said, then everything, the whole entire movie, can be a fantasy. Babygirl is a movie about the nature of reality, hiding under the cover of an erotic drama. That that is why it will be dissected and analyzed for decades to come. Revealing to us its true story, when we are ready to hear it. Or when Halina Reijn gives us a director's cut ;) Next video?
