AWS customer Affinidi shares how they moved to microservices and empowered teams to ship features independently, used consistent guardrails and governance across microservices, and reduced developer cognitive load. Moving to microservices using the strangler fig pattern and AWS Migration Hub Refactor Spaces helped Affinidi achieve a 50% reduction of software development engineer effort and a 25% cost reduction refactoring their distributed monolith to AWS Lambda functions, and it reduced new service setup time from multiple days to less than 10 minutes.
