AWS re:Invent 2022 - A deployment is not a release: Control your launches w/feature flags (BOA305-R)
It is exciting to ship code to users, but a release can also carry risk. To control this risk, many choose to decouple the deployment from when the feature is live. New features are hidden by if/then expressions so that the launch of new features is controlled centrally. These can be specific to some users or for all of them. This technique is called feature flags or dark launch. In this session, learn how AWS has been using this technique for over a decade and how you can introduce feature flags into your applications. This session features minimum slides, maximum code.
